Spiked Peppermint Eggnog

Ingredients:

4 cups of Homemade Holiday Eggnog (recipe found next to this one)

1 cup peppermint schnapps

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 drop red food coloring

Whipped cream, for topping

Crushed candy canes, for garnish

Optional Ingredients:

1 cup rum


Directions:

1. In a large pitcher, combine our homemade Holiday Eggnog, peppermint schnapps, rum (if using), vanilla extract, and ground nutmeg. Stir well to mix all of the ingredients.

2. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let the eggnog chill for at least 30 minutes so that the flavors meld together.

3. When ready to serve, give the eggnog a good stir. Pour the spiked peppermint eggnog into glasses, leaving some room for toppings.

4. Top each glass with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle some crushed candy canes on top.

5. Serve immediately and enjoy!
